Just finished dinner/supper. Late, but then we run a B&B and need to expect the unexpected.
Had a couple of w(h)ines and am listening to Padraic O'Reilly - Down the Ivory Stairs. If anybody wonders if Irish Trad music can be played on piano listen to that!!
Light finishes at 21.00 now. How I miss the long evenings when we could walk the riverbank till 32.00 and had enough light to get home.
How DO parents get kis to bed in summer??? We used to play ball games 'till we couldn't see the ball - or 'till our fathers came home after closing time. The same.
Been quite a day - huge amount of work done. I wish I were paid by the hour - or better - by the amount of work actually done. That'd frighten any (un)civilservant. Bastards. And we're very full. Maarten- Els's son, my step-son, is with us, workinglike crazy. He's in room 4 and an (E) German guy in room 4 (we've really taken him in to the family - 's mad.!! Two older Irish ladies - teachers - I think - are in room 1 It's lovely - the best part really- talking to the visitors, but God it's tireing. I can really understand why some go for GuestHouse or even hotel label instead of B&B. Sometimes it's just TOO personal.
Gráinne's barking to get in. She was out visiting her "new friend" Seamus - a wirey terrier/X that's staying in the basement apartment with his minders. English and Ukranian. !! He's fine though.
